Last night i was contacted by Kore Asian Media they did an article on the event THIS weekend August 6th & 7th. Thanks to Patrick for covering the show and asking me two really great questions:
1. Why you decided to work with the event?
2. How has Miyazaki influenced you?
I am a fan of Miyazaki starting with My neighbor Totoro years ago. I love the way he creates the relationship between his characters where they have this sweetness & sadness in them. Second that with the imagination in his storytelling where he brings in the environment, nature, spirit worlds, creatures that heal the planet so beautifully. He creates the perfect worlds somewhere between here and another universe, where ordinary people have these extraordinary experiences. So, when i was asked I was a “yes" to this show. I am honored to be part of this show, he is truly a master.
Miyazaki has influenced me with my character creations & storytelling for what i'm working on for an animated piece called Karma's Kreatures where the kreatures are cleaning up our planet to make room for everybeing to be healthy and safe. My personal experience a few years ago when i woke up and couldn't walk, inspired me to tell others going thru similar things that you can do anything thru your creativity and shear will. For me, when i develop creatures they have to make me feel like i am 5 years old when i first watched Puff the Magic dragon & stories like my neighbor totoro where anything is possible if I could dream it. Miyazaki knows this you see it in his creations :)
